Our Story

Higuerón Lodge began with a simple idea: to share the beauty of Bajos del Toro with others while staying true to the place we call home.

As a family from Sarchí with a deep connection to this region, we have always admired the rivers, waterfalls, forests, and peaceful atmosphere that make Bajos del Toro so special. In January 2024, we opened Colibrí, Quetzal, and Oropéndola on our family’s land with the hope of creating a space where travelers could experience that same connection with nature.

Since then, we have welcomed guests from Costa Rica and around the world, each creating new memories while discovering the magic of this mountain destination. Every guest who stays with us supports a local family-owned business that believes tourism should benefit both visitors and the local community.

We live here, work here, and remain committed to responsible tourism by supporting local businesses, hiring local talent, and caring for the natural environment that makes this place unique.
